A Cry For Kenya: An Open Poem to President William Ruto
In the heart of Kenya, where the sun rises bold,
Echoes the cries of a nation, a story untold.
We, the tribe-less, stand united, strong,
Against the tyranny of a system gone wrong.
#RejectFinanceBill24, our rallying cry,
For unjust taxation, we ask, why?
Our voices rise, a chorus of the free,
Yet met with bullets, in the land of the free.
Mr. President, we watched your press,
Hoping for solace, but left with distress.
No word on the fallen, our patriots true,
No mention of justice, nor the struggle we knew.
Gen Z marches, with courage in stride,
In the face of violence, we do not hide.
Peaceful, we gather, our cause is just,
Yet met with force, in a system we mistrust.
Medics who mend, are met with chains,
Activists silenced, amidst the rains.
Unlawful abductions, fear in the air,
Yet our resolve grows, we stand and dare.
To the families mourning, we send our grace,
In the fight for freedom, we've lost a trace.
Of loved ones dear, patriots now gone,
In our hearts, their memory lives on.
Mr. President, hear our plea,
End the oppression, let us be free.
Address our cries, the pain we bear,
Show us you lead, with justice and care.
For Kenya's future, bright and true,
Lies in the hands of me and you.
Together we rise, a nation reborn,
In unity and justice, we stand strong.
